OLD FASHIONED GINGERBREAD COOKIES
Cream together:
2 Cups Sugar
1 cup shortening
Add:
2 Eggs
½ cup molasses
Sift and add to above:
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Wrap tightly and place in refrigerator for several hours. Roll dough thin and cut with cookie cutter.
Bake at 325% for 10-12 minutes. Use raisins or currants for eyes, nose, buttons, etc. Colored icing will make bows, other clothing details. Try baking Christmas ornament hooks into the cookies for hanging on your tree.
